Gender reveal parties.
When did this nonsense become a thing?

I was sitting in my garden listening to the cricket when BANG a small explosion in next doors garden followed by a mass of pink paper landing on my lawn.

It’s so fucking American! And I thought babies weren’t supposed to have genders now?

Mad world.

Pointless; have a piss-up once you have a happy, healthy baby........

Re: Gender reveal parties.
These people probably believe that they are the first people in the world to have a baby, ever.

Re: Gender reveal parties.
Just another excuse to get some presents.

Party 1 = announcing the pregnancy

Party 2 = Gender reveal

Party 3 = Baby shower

Party 4 = Birth of baby

Party 5 = Christening

5 parties in about a year / 18 months

Which is Social Media's way of announcing that you're too poor to provide for your own child.

Re: Gender reveal parties.
I’ve always found these ‘baby showers’ bizarre considering the number of things that can go wrong between pregnancy and birth.

Also, the gender was meant to be a nice surprise for when the baby is first born.

I don't mind the ones that don't start bushfires.

Give it a few years and the LGBT lobby will have them banned, as an infringement of the unborn babies rights

Not my cup of tea but why knock anyone's excuse to have a celebration?

More wholesome fun is what this country needs.

I think i need a lie down

Mashed i entirely agree, its harmless

Some people aren't happy unless they have something to.whinge about, however trivial. These people start neighbourhood watch groups and make jam.

100% agree. Celebrate By all means but when the baby is here safe and sound.

Fuck off.

I just think it’s very American, bit like trick or treat.

I am neither in neighbourhood watch or make jam.

From bitter experience, totally agree.

Re: Gender reveal parties.
It’s just really tacky and self indulgent - which, the latter at least, I suppose is the basis for a lot of parties.

I’ve never been invited to one but I wouldn’t want to go because I can’t really think of a scenario where I would really care that much - I’m pleased for people I know when they’re expecting, and when baby is here but I can’t say I’ve ever been overwhelmed with emotion when someone has said ‘we’re expecting a girl/boy’ so making it a big announcement seems a bit pointless to me

Each to their own though

Fucking hell this forum really tries to be edgy nowadays.

Who gives a fuck really?? A happy couple want to have a bit of fun announcing their child’s gender, good luck to them.

No one knows the story, they might have been told they can’t have kids and then they’ve got lucky and are over the moon but yeah WHO don’t agree so stay indoors and be miserable.

Misread this as 'genital reveal parties'

Got my attention - as am a big advocate of nudism. I like nude almost as much as I like dism.

My type of party. Rock out with ya cock out. Carouse with your hampton free to air - like Now TV.
